Rodrigo Sanchez
Our annual house coffee has returned. From Finca El Progreso in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia. Rodrigo Sanchez operates several farms with his wife, Claudia, and his daughter, Nathalia. Among these is El Progreso, the building block on which his company, Aromas Del Sur, operates. Aromas Del Sur is a collaborative project between the Sanchez family and the Guzman family.
We will also be releasing an exciting experimental coffee from Elkin Guzman and his wife Diana soon, along with 3 different Pink Bourbons from another of Rodrigo’s farms – Monteblanco.
We were fortunate to visit both families this year in Colombia. As many of you know, this has been a long term relationship we are proud of. Witnessing Rodrigo’s meteoric growth has been so rewarding for One Line.
Rodrigo’s ambition knows no bounds. He is constantly innovating and working to improve his coffees, his relationships, and his community. His El Puente project with Elkin is demonstrative of this: by purchasing coffee from neighboring smallholders and processing coffee on their behalf, they can better connect the smallholders to the specialty market.
This year the coffee from El Progreso is tasting better than ever. Notes of orange, caramel, dates, and vanilla provide a platform for this coffee to shine as a house coffee. Approachable on every front, this coffee truly caters to any coffee drinker.
We also want to acknowledge Clearpath Coffee, who exports coffee for Aromas Del Sur and helps organizes logistics and communication for relationships like these.
